Feeding the Future, Together

In late 2022, our partners at Farm Journal Studios launched an original digital series in partnership with their client, Nutrien Ag Solutions. Originally titled “Leading the Field,” it now will be called “Feeding the Future, Together” as it launches its third season. The series set out to highlight the full story of where America’s favorite foods and products come from. Hosted by veteran NASCAR spotter and entrepreneur Brett Griffin, the series’ first two seasons have powerfully showcased the ways growers are feeding a growing world.

Filmed across 10 states and in Canada, both seasons have showcased a wide range of farms and crops, from apricots, cotton, apples and cherries, to hatch chiles, onions and grapes. Several of our directors have been involved in overseeing different episodes, and our producer, Rockie Britzmann, has ensured the production maintains consistent quality across the many locations and times of year. With so many moving parts relying on nuanced planning and coordination, and very tight windows for production on site, a key to our success is ensuring we have a stellar team working in sync.

Using a multi-camera approach, each episode’s arc shows Brett on a journey to go to the source where his favorite foods are grown. Along the way, he meets the growers, gets an understanding of their operation, and often participates in some of the mission-essential work. Much of the dynamic energy comes from the amazing locations captured – beautifully showcasing all four corners of the continent. Naturally, the real magic is in the stories told – which leave all viewers inspired and enlightened.
